Main Gate Automation System
April - 2022

Technical Implementation
✅ Multi-Access Control – The gate can now be operated via keyfobs, a custom mobile application, SCADA integration, and RF controls.
✅ Custom Mobile Application – I developed a mobile app that enables gate control but is restricted to the local Wi-Fi network at the gate. This limitation ensures that the barrier cannot be opened remotely from unauthorized locations, preventing potential accidents.
✅ Radio Frequency (RF) Keyfobs – Small keyfobs were introduced, allowing authorized personnel to open the gate without requiring physical effort.
✅ SCADA Integration – The gate’s status and controls were incorporated into the facility's SCADA system, enabling remote operation from the control center.
✅ Arduino-Based Automation – An Arduino UNO serves as the core of the automation, managing multiple control inputs while ensuring reliability.
🚀This solution significantly improved security and operational efficiency, eliminating the need for manual gate operation while maintaining strict access control.
Project Overview
Prior to the implementation of this automation system, the main gate had to be manually opened and closed. Initially, there were no security guards on-site, meaning that every person needing access had to physically raise and lower the gate barrier themselves—a tedious and inefficient process.
Due to these challenges, I was tasked with automating the system to improve convenience and security.
