Flow Measurement System Integration for Hydroelectric Pipelines 🌊
July 2024

Key Implementations:
To ensure seamless data acquisition, a MODBUS gateway was implemented—an initiative taken to enhance the sensor's data accessibility. A 🐍 Python-based solution was developed using libmodbus, allowing real-time flow readings to be stored in a MySQL database 🛢.
The system provided continuous monitoring of cubic meters per second (m³/s) flowing through the power pipelines of the plant’s three main reservoirs.
After the project was a success, the same installation was carried out on two more pipes, with positive results.
Project Description
This project involved the installation and integration of a TUF-2000B ultrasonic flow meter on a 1.56-meter diameter metal pipeline to monitor water flow in the hydroelectric plant's main reservoirs. The sensor was connected using shielded cabling and modified to enable MODBUS-RTU Serial communication for real-time data extraction.
